Hosa Badhukku (New Life) in Christ

New Life in Jesus:

He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

He chose to give us birth through the word of truth that we might be a kind of first fruits of all He created.

For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves His Child as well.

No-one can enter the Kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.  

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

A new covenant

But God found fault with the people and said, “ the time is coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with  the house of Judah.

For this is His blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

A new commandment

A new commandment He gave us that we must love one another, as He loved us that we also love one another.

A new creation

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away, behold, all have become new.

Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in his knowledge according to the image of Him who created him.

New name

Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth. He, who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it.

New song

And they sang a new song saying, “You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals, For You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, and have made us kings and priests to our God, and we shall reign on the earth.”

New heaven and new earth

But in keeping with His promise, we are looking forward to a new Heaven and a new Earth, the home of righteousness.

Then I saw a new Heaven and a new Earth, for the first heaven and first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City the New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as bride beautifully dressed for her husband.

Therefore do not conform to the pattern of this world but, Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Harvest

Harvest a season

God blessed Noha and said, “while the earth remains, seed time and harvest, and cold and heat, and winter and summer and day and night shall not cease.

Now Reuben went in the days of wheat harvest and found mandrakes in the field, and brought them to his mother Leah. Then Rechel said to Leah, please give me some of your son’s mandrakes.

And he delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites, and they hanged them on the hill before the Lord. So they fell all seven together, and were put to death in the days of harvest, in the first days, in the beginning of barley harvest.

For these two years the famine has been in the land, and there are still five years in which there will be neither plowing nor harvesting.

Harvest is working

Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest, in plowing time and in harvest you shall rest.

So she stayed close by the young woman of Boaz, to glean until the end of barley harvest and wheat harvest. And she dwelt with her mother- in-law.

Now the people of the Beth Shemesh where reaping their wheat harvest in the valley. And they lifted their rice and saw the ark, and rejoiced to see it.

Harvest is festival

And you shall observe the Feast of the Weeks, of the first fruits of the wheat harvest, and the Feast of the Ingathering at the year’s end.

Harvest is getting equipped for Lord’s work

Then He said to His disciples,’ The harvest is truly plentiful, but the laborers are few”.

Two things are required

Former rain and Latter rain – Let us now fear the Lord our God, who gives rain, both the former and the latter, in its season. He reserves for us the appointed weeks of the harvest.

Patience – Therefore be patient brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain.

Harvest is time of great joy

He who goes continuously goes forth weeping, bearing seeds for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, Bringing his sheaves with him.

You have multiplied the nation and increased its joy. They rejoice before you according to the joy of harvest, as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.

Harvest is the season of grace

The harvest is past, The summer is ended, And we are not saved.

Harvest is the end of the world

Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.

The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels.

Harvest is Judgement

For thus says Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, “The daughter of Babylon is like a threshing floor When it is time to thresh her, yet a little while And the time of harvest will come.”

Also O Judah, a harvest is appointed for you, When I return the captives of My people.

Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe, Come go down, For the vinepress is full, The vats overflow For their wickedness is great.

And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a laud voice to Him who saton the cloud. Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.

For so the Lord said to me, I will take My rest, And I will look from My dwelling place Like clear heat in sunshine, like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.

Like the cold of snow in time of harvest Is a faithful messenger to those who send him, for He refreshes the soul of his master.

As snow in summer and rain in harvest, so honor is not fitting for a fool.

Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

Salvation

If you, O LORD, kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand? Psalm 130:3

Our need for a Savior

Romans 3:22-23

This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

1John 1:8-10

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.

Psalm 130

 ¹ Out of the depths I cry to you, O LORD;

 ² O Lord, hear my voice.
       Let your ears be attentive
       to my cry for mercy.

 ³ If you, O LORD, kept a record of sins,
       O Lord, who could stand?

 ⁴ But with you there is forgiveness;
       therefore you are feared.

 ⁵ I wait for the LORD, my soul waits,
       and in his word I put my hope.

 ⁶ My soul waits for the Lord 
       more than watchmen wait for the morning.

 ⁷ O Israel, put your hope in the LORD,
       for with the LORD is unfailing love
       and with him is full redemption.

 ⁸ He himself will redeem Israel
       from all their sins

God’s promise of Salvation

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Rom 5:6-8

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. ⁸But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

1 Pet. 2:24

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.

Rom. 10:9-10

hat if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

The Consequences without a Savior

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in

Christ Jesus our Lord.

Isa. 57:20-21

But the wicked are like the tossing sea, 
which cannot rest, 
whose waves cast up mire and mud.

John 3:18

Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.

John 3:36

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him.

John 8:24

I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am the one I claim to be,you will indeed die in your sins.

Our Assurance of Salvation

John 3:36

I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.

1 John 5:11-12

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
